The EGR valve changes state at about 2,500 rpm, depending on the vehicle make and gearbox gear. For this reason, remember that the EGR valve must be open in order to be cleaned.
If the air intake ducts are dirty, the air will return up to 1 g of fuel for every 15 g of air, so it is also necessary to clean the intake with AIC (Air Intake Cleaning), an operation that reinforces the cleanliness of the EGR air intake.
Objective when cleaning the FAP (particulate pollutant filter): To prevent the "FAP failure" warning light coming on + to save fuel + to reduce the number of regenerations of the FAP.
If you have to clean on a street circuit, drive at no less than 2,000 - 3,000 rpm, until the "FAP fault" indicator goes out.

This video explains how to regenerate a clogged Fap with the KN ITV Kit.
1 – Mix the Kn-cleaner FAP 250 ml with 750 ml water.
2 – Disconnect the 2 hoses from the FAP pressure sensor.
3 – Inject the mixture using a pneumatic tool into the pressure hose at the FAP inlet and let it act for 20/30 minutes.
4 – Start the engine in the open air or by means of an exhaust gas extractor and let it run at 2 000 rpm. Plug the inlet hose with a screw and a clamp.
5 – Blow out with the air gun and reassemble the 2 hoses and clear the faults using the code scannery.
6 – Add 250 ml of Eco 10.000 Diesel to the tank with 25 litres of diesel.
7 – Then drive the vehicle on the road, in forced regeneration mode, with the scanner connected and the mechanic on board.
8 - Once the vehicle can be driven in non-degradation mode, return to the workshop to disconnect the scanner. From then on, the driver must follow the workshop's instructions on how best to drive the vehicle (this may vary depending on the make and model) until the reserve is reached. This means tha the engine, as long as the fuel is not exhausted, should be exceptionally revved, above 2,500 / 3,500 rpm, preferably on the motorway or motorway, to help the Eco 10,000 to finish evacuating the carbon from the FAP through exhaust.

For a decarbonisation with hydrogen, once it has been introduced together with the air through the intake, it leads to the combustion of the carbon in the combustion chamber, just like the Eco 10.000 does. However, unlike Eco 10.000, after combustion has been completed, it is no longer present in the exhaust gases and has therefore lost its effectiveness when passing through the FAP, the EGR or the turbocharger.
Eco 10000 is also a hydrogen-based cleaner, except that its hydrogen molecules are retained in a liquid state, even if it is subjected to high atmospheric pressure in the compression chamber. Eco 10,000 is, however, easy to use. It is simply poured into the tank, where it will bind to the fuel. No machine is required.
Cleaning of the particulate filter (FAP): The Eco 10 000 and C 99 present in the fuel are propelled via the injection system into the combustion chamber. They maintain their presence in the exhaust gases, so that they act at the moment of entry into the combustion chamber in"Regeneration Mode" this is not possible with hydrogen treatment.

I bought this vehicle second hand with 96 000 Kilometers at the beginning of 2008.
Since then I treat it with C99 on every fill up from time to time with P18. At the beginning of 2012, this vehicle already has 176 300 Kilometers and still with the same original FAP. I never had the need to add AdBlue. I have never had the Fap failure light come on again either. At 4 years old. At 4 years, the reading of the pollutant gases in the ITV shows very low levels, of the order of less than 0.3 points on the opacimeter. I now intend to give it Eco 10,000 at the next fill-up. Needless to say, I will continue to use P18 at every oil change.

1 - Get an anti-carbon ITV pack consisting of a bottle of Eco 10,000 250 ml and a bottle of C 99 250 ml Diesel which treats 1,000 litres of diesel.
2 - Decarbonisation of the EGR valve on the road : Pour one Eco 10,000 250 ml into a tank containing 25 litres of diesel + 5 ml of C 99. Use a double dose of c 99 in the next 3 fills.
« If driving at low speed, in traffic jams or on short journeys» double the dose of C 99. Very important : Air and diesel filters must be clean, a defective glow plug can also be a cause of poor combustion.

Eco 10,000 or decarbonisation with Hydrogen.
The hydrogen genesis combined with the intake air allows the char to enter into combustion in the upper part of the engine, just as Eco 10 000 does. If it is cleaned with hydrogen, unlike Eco 10 000, it is no longer present in the exhaust gases, which can no longer contribute to the regeneration of the PAF.
Eco 10000 is also a hydrogen-based cleaner, except that its hydrogen molecules are captive and liquid under atmospheric pressure. Eco 10 000 is easy to use and does not require a machine. Simply pour it into the tank.
Decarbonisation of the particulate filters (FAP) : Eco 10 000 and C 99 travel in the fuel towards the injectors, until they are released in the exhaust gases, thus allowing the regeneration of the EGR and the FAP (this does not happen in the case of decarbonisation by hydrogen).
The Eco 10 000 and C 99 then go on to cause a super combustion which cleans the EGR and regenerates the Fap, safely removing the carbon via the exhaust, due to the pressure of the exhaust gases and the fact that, when driving on the road, the airflow ventilates and cools the underside of the car perfectly.
The dosages of Eco 10 000 in decarbonisation mode and those of the C 99 are backed up by the lack of incidents in the thousands of decarbonisation operations carried out. This is attested by the results obtained in the decarbonisation of engines, Fap, Egr and turbo confirmed by the MOT gas checks which our customers have successfully passed...

Checking fuel consumption reduction :
- Fill the tank, reset the odometer to zero and refill it at the same petrol station (the inclination of the tank creates an air pocket in the tank, which can interfere with the fuel consumption measurement). It is also important to ensure that the air and fuel filters are kept clean to avoid fuel consumption and carbon build-up.

It should be noted that on this vehicle, the EGR valve has done its job perfectly, from day one, to burn the NOx (nitrogen dioxide), when most other vehicles are gradually increasing their pollution index.

Instructions for use engine cleaning :
- With the engine warm, add 10% Engine Flush to the old oil before draining.
- Start the engine and let it idle for 10 to 15 minutes, as required, without moving the car.
- Drain immediately and replace the oil filter. Fill with new oil and provide 250 ml volume for P18, if used (recommended).
Instructions for use for gearboxes
- Add 10 % Engine Flush according to oil volume (drain the equivalent volume of oil beforehand).
- Run for 70 / 100 km (can be in several sections or days).
- Drain when warm.
- Add P 18 (recommended) together with the new oil.
Modern oils have evolved considerably and the waiting time before changing the oil has become longer. After changing the oil, there are always traces of oxidised oil, carbon deposits and abrasive materials.
If new oil is added without first cleaning the circuit, it is the same as not using the oil filter. If it is not cleaned with Engine Flush beforehand, the oil turns black immediately, especially in a diesel engine.
The rings are like fingernails in the engine, scraping off debris and causing more and more compression loss, causing more and more combustion gases to pass into the crankcase and, due to excess pressure, back up, drawing oil into the intake breather, where it will build up.
The intake valves will then build up carbon deposits, slowing down the air flow. Even if the air flow decreases, the injection pump will continue to maintain the same flow rate, so more and more carbon (from unburned fuel) will build up in the rings and continue to foul the intake even more and build up more and more carbon in the engine. It's like the fish biting its own tail.
Do not hesitate to ask your mechanic to clean the oil circuit with Mecarun Engine Flush before changing the oil.
It is also recommended for the gearbox (manual or automatic) and the transmission bridge. Your mechanic can also do this for you.

It is necessary to replace the oil filter after using Engine Flush. We recommend pouring a 500 ml bottle of MECARUN Engine Flush prior to the oil change and running the engine at idle for 10 / 15 minutes, depending on how dirty the engine is.
Engine Flush is compatible with any type of oil, whether mineral or synthetic, petrol, diesel or LPG. There is no danger to the engine or catalytic converter.
It is recommended not to use Engine Flush in petrol engines with more than 150 000 km or high oil consumption.
