The aim is not only to turn off the "FAP Clogged" light, but to decarbonise it as much as possible in order to save fuel by reducing FAP regenerations, as well as to reduce normal fuel consumption.
When driving in urban areas (except when the vehicle is stationary or at very low speeds), the engine speed must be higher than 2,000 rpm in order to expel the carbon, instead of accumulating it, (decarbonises on the road) until the FAP light goes out.
The FAP fault must be cleared after this cleaning process by means of a code scanner. If you do not have one, you can buy one or ask your garage to do it for you.

*If after using a bottle of Eco 10,000 250 ml or a bottle of C 99 which treats 1,000 litres of fuel or a Mecarun decarbonising treatment, you have to pass the MOT test and it is rejected or you still have to replace the EGR valve or the FAP: Hi-Tec International (Mecarun) will then reimburse* the bottle purchased. * The vehicle must have a freshly replaced air filter and a fresh diesel filter. * Condition valid only for orders placed online or through our distributors, for a single canister and excluding transport costs.
* You must provide a duplicate of the purchase invoice and the invoice for the replacement of the FAP or the EGR valve, as well as a copy of the negative report of the gas control at the MOT.
If, after this normal FAP cleaning operation, the FAP does not return to normal because it is clogged, you have the following option, before having to replace it, we advise you to have the following operation carried out by an engine professional.
1 - Mix Kn-cleaner FAP 250 ml with 750 ml of water.
2 - Disconnect the 2 hoses of the Fap pressure sensor.
3 - Inject the mixture by means of a pneumatic tool into the pressure hose at the FAP inlet and let it act for about 20/30 minutes.
4 - Start the engine in the open air or by means of an exhaust fan and run it at 2 000 rpm. Plug the inlet hose with a screw and clamp.
5 - Blow out with the air gun and reassemble the 2 hoses and clear the faults using the code scanner.
6 - Add 250 ml of Eco 10.000 Diesel to the tank with 25 litres of diesel.
7 - Then drive the vehicle on the road, in forced regeneration mode, with the scanner connected and the mechanic on board.
8 - Once the vehicle can be driven in non degradation mode, return to the workshop to disconnect the scanner. From then on, the driver must follow the workshop's instructions on the best way to drive the vehicle (this may vary depending on the make and model) until the reserve is reached. This means that the engine, as long as the fuel is not exhausted, should be exceptionally revved, above 2,500 / 3,500 rpm, preferably on the motorway or motorway, to help the Eco 10,000 to finish evacuating the charcoal from the FAP through the exhaust.
9 - It is recommended to use a double dose of C 99 Diesel at each filling, in order to protect the FAP, as well as to avoid sludge and bacteria in the tank and to save fuel.

Eco 10 000 or decarbonisation with hydrogen?
For a decarbonisation with hydrogen, once it has been introduced together with the air through the intake, it leads to the combustion of the carbon in the combustion chamber, just like the Eco 10.000 does. However, unlike Eco 10.000, after combustion has been completed, it is no longer present in the exhaust gases and has therefore lost its effectiveness when passing through the FAP, the EGR or the turbocharger.
Eco 10000 is also a hydrogen-based cleaner, except that its hydrogen molecules are retained in a liquid state, even if it is subjected to high atmospheric pressure in the compression chamber. Eco 10,000 is, however, easy to use. It is simply poured into the tank, where it will bind to the fuel. No machine is required.
Cleaning of the particulate filter (FAP): The Eco 10 000 and C 99 present in the fuel are propelled via the injection system into the combustion chamber. They maintain their presence in the exhaust gases, so that they act at the moment of entry into the combustion chamber in"Regeneration Mode" this is not possible with hydrogen treatment.
Eco 10 000 and C 99 will create a "Super Combustion" in the FAP, which will allow safe regeneration and decarbonisation, because the vehicle is properly cooled by the air flow generated by the road travel itself and due to the exhaust gas evacuation speed.
The correct dosage of these products is amply demonstrated by the absence of incidence in the numerous testimonials from our customers and by the results obtained in the control of pollutant gases in the Technical Inspection.
The Mecarun AIC intake system cleaner perfectly complements the decarbonisation process by taking care of the carbon in the air intake ducts and butterflies upstream of the combustion chamber and EGR. This allows a correct air/fuel mixture, contributing to better combustion, lower fuel consumption and stabilisation of the engine operating temperature, as well as better protection of the piston rings.
allows the carbon from the top engine to enter the combustion, just as the Eco 10.000 does. But unlike the Eco 10.000, hydrogen is no longer present in the exhaust gases after the compression chamber and can no longer play a role in the regeneration of the particulate filter.
The A.I.C., on the other hand, provides another oxidising fuel mixture which is more stable than hydrogen via the air intake regardless of the operating temperature of the combustion engines, thus ensuring that there are no problems in the piston rings.

Currently, with the new technologies, in some vehicles treated with the Mecarun range of products, readings of 0.01 have been reached, which is really insignificant, considering the emission of polluting gases as null.

I bought this vehicle second-hand with 96 000 km in 2008.
Since then, I have been using C99 in every fill-up and occasionally P18. It now has just over 176 300 km on it and has the same original FAP, without ever having to add Adblue.
The FAP light has never come on. At the ITV, after 4 years, minimum reading of pollutant gases: C1 < 0,50 y C2: < 0,50. When I fill up again I plan to use Eco 10.000 for the FIRST TIME and at the next oil change I will clean the engine with Engine Flush and then put the P18 back in.
